TCL Solar
Dr Abdul-Qoyyum Olanrewaju leads TCL Solar's sales and business development across the Middle East and Africa, with major focus on West Africa and Nigeria as the powerhouse for market penetration across the region.
Core Function
Africa's constraint has rarely been sunlight or appetite. It has been access to bankable product, honest lead times and a manufacturer that answers the phone. That is the gap this role exists to close. Choose the route that fits you and the right enquiry opens.
The brand
TCL Solar builds high-efficiency N-Type TOPCon and Back Contact panels, energy storage and smart energy management as one connected system. Its modules are engineered for the yield and the lifetime a site is actually paid for, not for a datasheet.
The company traces back to a 1958 semiconductor factory and now sits inside TCL Technology, a Fortune Global 500 group. It pioneered the 210mm large-format wafer series, and the integration of SunPower and DAS Solar extends its reach across the full photovoltaic value chain.

Business Development Leader | Energy & Infrastructure | Middle East & Africa
Dr Abdul-Qoyyum Olanrewaju is a business development and commercial leader with 9+ years of experience building businesses, developing markets and converting complex energy and industrial opportunities into commercial outcomes across Africa and the Middle East.
With a Master's in Business Studies from Switzerland, an MBA from the United Kingdom, and an honorary doctorate, he combines formal business education with extensive hands-on experience across renewable energy, industrial manufacturing, infrastructure and enterprise sales.
His career has been defined by a rare combination of market development, technical understanding, strategic partnerships, enterprise sales, project origination and commercial execution. He has built and managed a B2B sales pipeline exceeding $300 million, working across the commercial chain from identifying high-value opportunities and developing strategic accounts to structuring partnerships, negotiating transactions and moving projects toward execution.
Before joining TCL Solar, Abdul-Qoyyum led Africa-focused business development for LONGi Solar, one of the world's leading solar technology companies. His professional journey has also included work with international and regional organisations including WERAN, Zpower Impex and the Simba Group, giving him exposure to both global manufacturers and the commercial realities of operating across African markets.
What makes his profile distinctive is the combination of academic business training and practical commercial execution. His experience has taken him from industrial and operational environments to manufacturer boardrooms, investment discussions, project sites and C-suite negotiations, giving him an unusually broad understanding of what it takes to move an opportunity from concept to contract, and from contract to execution.
Today, as Senior Sales Manager for TCL Solar in the Middle East and Africa, Abdul-Qoyyum works at the intersection of a global manufacturing platform and some of the world's most complex and rapidly evolving energy markets. His mandate extends beyond selling solar modules. It involves building strategic relationships, developing distribution channels, originating large-scale opportunities, engaging EPCs and IPPs, supporting utility and C&I projects, and connecting regional demand with global manufacturing capacity.
He approaches these energy markets not simply as territories to sell into, but as interconnected commercial ecosystems that require relationships, intelligence, capital, technology and execution to move in the same direction.
